The biohealth industry has exhibited a higher export growth rate (13.2%) compared to other sectors in recent years (2018-2022). Specifically, during the COVID-19 pandemic (2019-2021), the industry emerged as a significant and promising export sector in Korea, achieving an export growth rate of 28.2%, largely driven by the export of in vitro diagnostic devices.
   
    However, as the COVID-19 pandemic has subsided, there has been a decline in the demand for specialty products, including in vitro diagnostic devices and disinfectants. In addition, the export environment continues to be challenged by stagnant global economic growth and stricter regulations in various countries. Consequently, it is crucial to develop national-level support measures and tailor strategies to individual countries to ensure the sustained growth of the biohealth industry.
   
    In this session, leaders of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute(KHIDI) international branches, along with guest speakers from key strategic countries, will discuss export and international expansion strategies in the biohealth sector, based on specific case studies. The conference looks forward to providing a launching pad, enabling domestic biohealth companies to successfully penetrate their target markets.
