Challenges and opportunities in the U.S. biotech market

Although overall venture capital investing in the U.S. has declined, both venture fundraising and venture investment into early-stage biopharma, medical devices and diagnostics set records in 2017. What can emerging companies do to capitalize on this environment of record-breaking dry powder and M&A activity? As a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, investment banker and now venture capitalist, Ron brings a multi-faceted and balanced perspective to helping early-stage companies succeed. In this presentation, Ron will provide an overview of trends in the U.S. biopharma and medical device industry and highlight early-stage biotech mover and shakers with real case studies. He will also provide insight into what it takes to launch a new biotech company in the U.S., from navigating the regulatory environment and finding the right strategic partners to identifying grants and knowing how and when to access public and private capital.
